How to cancel printing on a printer

If the printer is correctly connected and connected to the computer, operation is not difficult. The principle of action is to send files from a text editor to print. In this case, the program automatically creates a queue, that is, it forms a sequence in which documents will be printed.

However, sometimes a situation arises when you need to cancel the queue. This may be an erroneous file sending, a crash in the windows system, in which one document was sent several times. In any case, you need to know the queue cancellation algorithm. In this case, use the following methods:

1. If the printer is near you, you can try pressing a button on the display (usually it has an image of a cross, a rhombus or a triangle, depending on the model). After that, all folders from the print queue will be deleted. But in this case, the current page will print to the end.
2. In the absence of the ability to quickly approach the printer, you can use the control from the computer. To do this, go to the “start” main menu, after which you will need to replenish the entrance to the “control panel”, and then to “devices and printers”. From the proposed list, find the desired item. Right-click on the image, select the option to delete the queue. If this does not help, there may be a problem in the system or software, then automatic diagnostics and troubleshooting should be performed.

IMPORTANT: Turning the printer off and on is not recommended, as this may lead to a malfunction in the settings. This method should be used only in extreme cases.

In some cases, it is not necessary to completely cancel printing, but to suspend it. In this case, after clicking resume, the printout continues. Such a need may arise when paper jams under the printing press, if the printer does not stop on its own. In this situation, you must perform the following procedure:

1. Go to the main menu on the desktop by clicking on the "start" icon or on the corresponding button on the keyboard.
2. After that, go to the "control panel" section.
3. Now you should select the section with the name "devices and printers" from the dialog box that opens.
4. Then the system will take you to a menu with a complete list of paired devices. Find the name of the version of equipment you are interested in. Carefully look at the list, choose the necessary model by the appropriate name. The name can be viewed in the parameters.
5. Right-click on the image to open the context menu. From the drop-down list of options, select the line that says "pause".
